چکیده

The paper discusses an adaptive multiuser receiver for CDMA systems in which the scaled unscented filter (SUF) and the square root unscented filter (SURF) are used for joint estimation and tracking of the code delays and multipath coefficients of the received CDMA signals. The proposed channel estimators are more near-far resistant than the conventional extended Kalman filter (EKF) and present lower complexity than the conventional particle filter (PF) based methods. To present meaningful performance measures, the modified Cramer–Rao lower bound (CRLB) and computational complexity metrics are derived for the proposed and existing channel estimators. Computer simulation results demonstrate the superior performance of the proposed channel estimators. The proposed estimators are also shown to exhibit lower complexity relative to the PF. © 2007 Elsevier Inc. All rights reserved.

Nonlinear Multiuser Receiver for Optimized Chaos-Based DS-CDMA Systems

Chaos based communications have drawn increasing attention over the past years. Chaotic signals are derived from non-linear dynamic systems. They are aperiodic, broadband and deterministic signals that appear random in the time domain. Because of these properties, chaotic signals have been proposed to generate spreading sequences for wide-band secure communication recently. Like conventional DS...

Joint Closed-Loop Power Control and Base Station Assignment for DS-CDMA Receiver in Multipath Fading Channel with Adaptive Beamforming Method

In this paper, we propose smart step closed-loop power control (SSPC) algorithm and base station assignment based on minimizing the transmitter power (BSAMTP) technique in a direct sequence-code division multiple access (DS-CDMA) receiver in the presence of frequency-selective Rayleigh fading. This receiver consists of three stages. In the first stage, with conjugate gradient (CG) adaptive ...

Performance Analysis of ZF Pre-Coder and Extended Joint Channel Estimation Method in Downlink CDMA with HPA

In the down link scenario of code division multiple access (CDMA) systems, multi user detectors (MUDs) such as linear de-correlating detector (LDDs) provide satisfactory symbol error rates (SERs) at the expense of much increased complexity, they require all active users’ spreading sequences, which is impractical from privacy point of view. To overcome this impracticality, a simple matched filte...

Subspace adaptive detection for asynchronous multiuser CDMA with frequency domain channel response and delay estimation

Channel estimation, particularly delay estimation in asynchronous CDMA channel, is essential for most receivers. The correlated time domain data sequence will become asymptotically uncorrelated in frequency domain. By taking Discrete Fourier Transform (DFT) of the received signals, we can take advantage of this asymptotical property to simplify the estimation algorithm. The proposed scheme can ...

Multi-user Map Decoding for Flat-fading Cdma Channels

This paper presents a multiuser maximum a posteriori (MAP) decoder for synchronous code division multiple access (CDMA) signals on Rayleigh at-fading channels. The receiver does not assume perfect channel information at the receiver. The key idea is to expand the decoding trellis for the purpose of joint channel estimation and decoding. The time varying channel eeect is equalized by coupling mi...
